Roberts goes 4-for-5, Royales Move to 8-5
|
The Montreal Royales stymied the Saskatoon Legends, 7-0, at Eliminators Ballpark. Pete Roberts, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Montreal. Gilbert Conte, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save. The Royales have an impressive 8-5 record.
Roberts in the bottom of the second had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and the Royales leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
"I thought we played a nice game," Roberts told the Montreal News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
