Saints Get One-Run Win at Saskatoon
|
Saskatoon got a terrific performance from catcher Bob Hansen, but it wasn't enough to beat the Trois-Rivieres Saints. Trois-Rivieres won the Ballpark of Red Deer College contest, 6-5. Hansen was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The loss drops Saskatoon to 7-5.
Manny Silva didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Trois-Rivieres on top, 2-0.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Trois-Rivieres manager Salvador López.
