It seemed that Texas left fielder Pete Bauer could do no wrong as the Longhorns KO'd the Tigers, 14-5 today. Bauer rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Tigers hurlers were throwing.

"I think the Longhorns were stealing signs," growled one unhappy LSU fan after the game.

"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Bauer in the postgame press interview.

Pete Bauer singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ben Nelson in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.

In the 2028 season Bauer is hitting .274 with 15 home runs.
