|
Texas starter Jorge Ríos put a stranglehold on the Oregon State offense. The left-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Longhorns to a 5-1 win. Ríos went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hits, walked 5, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-3. The 7th-place Longhorns have won 5 in a row.
One significant plate appearance for Texas came with no one out in the top of the third inning. Longhorns catcher Charles Honeysett hit a run-scoring single, which helped Texas go on to win.
