Ducks Slip Past Tulane, 5-4
|
Tulane third baseman Jeff Massey had a good game, even if his team did not. The Green Wave dropped a 5-4 decision to Oregon at Crunch Ballpark. Massey went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times. The Ducks now have a record of 18-26 with the win over Tulane.
The Ducks were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when second baseman Cliff Meeks turned a 1-1 fastball from Jim Unknown into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Oregon a thrilling 5-4 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Meeks said.
