Victory Pushes Titans Record to 24-19
|
The Cal State Fullerton Titans topped the UCLA Bruins, 6-4, with youngster Wilson Márquez playing a key role. Márquez went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Titans in the win. The Titans now have a mark of 24-19.
A key moment came when Márquez faced UCLA hurler Greg Simmons in the bottom of the sixth. The Titans, who were trailing 4-2, had runners on 1st and 2nd. Márquez got a 2-1 fastball and hit a 3-run home run.
"Good win for us," said Márquez. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
