49'ers Rally For 6-4 Win
|
The Long Beach State 49'ers stopped the South Mississippi Golden Eagles, 6-4, at Ballpark of Macclenny College. The 49'ers got a big game from Ricardo Maldonado, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Alberto Piano picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Zack Wilson was tagged with the loss. The 49'ers now have a record of 21-21.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Maldonado. Facing Zack Wilson with a runner on 2nd, the Long Beach State catcher had a 2-run home run. Game over, walk-off style!
