Oregon State got a terrific performance from pitcher César Ramírez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baylor Bears. Baylor won the Palisades Ballpark contest, 5-2. Ramírez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. With the win, the Bears improved to 24-17.

Tim McDonald contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the third. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat that helped Baylor get the win.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Baylor skipper Cody Evans.
