Green Wave Fall Short at UCLA
|
The Bruins had to overcome a good performance from Tulane pitcher Pancho Hernández to claim a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Shiprock College. Hernández went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Getting the save was James Franklin, his 12th. The Bruins improved to a lofty 30-8.
UCLA took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, first baseman Willis Pierce hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
Pierce attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
