Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Oregon Ducks got the win.
The Ducks took USC pitcher Don Hart's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Nesquehoning College Fields. The final score was 4-3, Oregon. Hart went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 8. Jason Bueno picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-4. He struck out 3 in 6 innings.
Mauro Martínez had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh for the Ducks. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Oregon trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
After the game, Oregon manager Manny Cruz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
Oregon occupies 22nd place in the Cliff Gustafson at 14-24.
