Horned Frogs Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
The Oregon State Beavers got a sterling performance from shortstop Troy Sutton, but the Horned Frogs still prevailed, 6-5. Sutton was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jason Kurz, credited with the win, is now 1-2. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1 innings. At 15-21, the Horned Frogs find themselves in 18th place in the Cliff Gustafson.
Reid Taylor was the walk-off hero for TCU. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the TCU second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Álex Negrón, the TCU manager.
