Deem Excels, But Cougars Win
Despite a great performance by Fresno State second baseman Justin Deem, the Houston Cougars defeated the Bulldogs by the score of 12-7 at Suns Ballpark. Deem was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Todd Sutton got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 1 innings.
