Bruins Reel Off Another Win
|
The UCLA Bruins defeated the Houston Cougars, 7-3, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Ballpark of Shiprock College, with UCLA pitcher Dennis McKenzie named player of the game. UCLA has now won 11 straight.
Parking one for UCLA was Irving Matherly. The third baseman had a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Bruins. It put his team ahead, 4-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Matherly was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We're just feeding off each other right now," said McKenzie.
