Hops Deal Hitmen Painful Loss
|
The home team gave the The Brew Stade fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
In a tight contest at The Brew Stade, the San Diego Hops edged the Chicago Hitmen by the score of 10-9. San Diego right fielder Jejomar Butardo, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. San Diego's record now stands at 22-39, placing them last in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.
Ken Abbott was the walk-off hero for San Diego. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the San Diego third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Abbott said.
