Rebels Win, Gross goes 4-for-4
|
Ole Miss catcher Shane Gross had 4 ribbies while helping his team defeat the TCU Horned Frogs, 14-7. Rob Sanders got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Ole Miss is now 19-11.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Rebels sent teenager Stephen Serrea to the plate against Horned Frogs hurler Bud Lee. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-0 forkball to score 1.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Gross.
