Wright, 49'ers Fall to Tigers
Despite a great performance by Long Beach State right fielder Leonard Wright, the LSU Tigers defeated the 49'ers by the score of 5-3 at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Wright hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. LSU starter Van Perry was credited with the win after throwing 81 pitches over 5.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. The save went to Justin Cooper, his 4th this season.

Paul Shaw had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the top of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, helping LSU to the win.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Shaw.

The Tigers now have a mark of 15-12.
