Bruins Win Again, Extend Streak to 6
|
The first-place UCLA Bruins welcomed Mississippi State to Ballpark of Shiprock College.
With second baseman Steve Parker leading the charge, the UCLA Bruins defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 9-4, at Ballpark of Shiprock College. Parker, who is tied for 8th in the RDL in bases on balls with 24, went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Andreas Roberts in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Jack Gallagher took the loss.
Allan Bauer played a key role in the win for the Bruins. The designated hitter punched a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, Bauer was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said UCLA manager Carl Smith.
The first-place Bruins have won 6 straight games.
