Tornadoes Fall to Beavers, 6-3
|
Portland starter Fernando López pitched effectively against the Kansas City Tornadoes at Waterfront Park. The left-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. López picked up the win for Portland, going 7 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Toyotomi Nakano closed the door for Portland, picking up his 15th save of the year.
In the bottom of the third, with Portland trailing 1-0, the Tornadoes allowed the Beavers to take the lead, 2-1, on a base hit and Kansas City error.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," López told the Portland Daily.
Portland is now 33-30, Kansas City 27-34.
