Big Day by Pierce Ignites Bruins Win
In a high-scoring game between UCLA and Oregon, first baseman Willis Pierce was a difference-maker. The 19-year-old earned player of the game honors in the 9-8 UCLA win. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The Bruins improved to a lofty 19-6.

UCLA grabbed the momentum in the top of the eighth, when Pierce, who leads the RDL in total bases with 94, hit a 2-run home run. His 16th home run of the season put the Bruins out in front, 9-7.
