Tigers Lose Late, 7-6
|
Texas beat LSU at Ballpark of Celebration College, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Steve Lindsey, who earned player of the game honors. Texas's record now stands at 14-9, placing them 7th in the Cliff Gustafson.
Coming to the plate with no one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Texas center fielder Harlan Plowman had a chance to be the hero. Facing LSU pitcher Justin Cooper with the bases loaded, Plowman hit a walk-off run-scoring double.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Lindsey said.
