The Oregon Ducks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Luis Hernández, who muffled the South Mississippi offense en route to a tight 2-1 Ducks win at Ballpark of Storm Lake College. Luther Boyce finished to wrap up his 4th save. The 18th-place Ducks improved to 9-14.
Vince Davis put Oregon in front, 2-1, when he hit a 2-run home run off Christian O'Brien in the top of the fifth. It was his 4th home run of the season.
"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Hernández.
