Rodríguez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Cardinals
|
The Stanford Cardinals scored a 5-4 win versus the Oregon State Beavers at Surfers Ballpark. Stanford third baseman Ted MacKey nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Albert Cunningham, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Beavers, at 13-9, have lost 4 straight games.
Late in the game, designated hitter Pedro Rodríguez had a big at-bat for Stanford. In the bottom of the ninth, he hit a run-scoring double off Arlen Harris. The play gave the Cardinals a 5-4 lead.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," MacKey said in his postgame press conference.
