The Cabo San Lucas Toreros eked out a 9-8 win versus the Eureka Hornets at Field de Los Layendas. Nobody did more than right fielder Mokichi Kono, who captured player of the game honors. The winner was Cabo San Lucas reliever Lloyd Hunt, now 1-3. The loser was Nobuhisa Sumita. The Toreros' win now puts them at 30-32.

Cabo San Lucas won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Nobuhisa Sumita on the mound for Eureka, second baseman Victor Rocher hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Toreros fans to their feet.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant José Núńez, the Cabo San Lucas skipper.
