Longhorns Win, Honeysett drives in 4 runs
|
Riding the 1-hit performance of the 19-year old catcher Charles Honeysett, the Texas Longhorns stopped the Washington State Cougars, 9-2. Dexter Morris got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Cougars to 1 runs on 2 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The current losing streak for Washington State has reached 4 games.
Honeysett contributed when he hit a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth. Coming with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the home run proved to be critical to helping Texas get the win.
