Manhattan Beach left-hander Tomás Bravo pitched his team to victory over the New York Mafia at Don Corleone Park. The final score was 4-3. Bravo, now 8-5, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Joachim Doucet, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 15th save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and one out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when second baseman Donald Latulippe, who is tied for 4th in the RCL in bases on balls with 31, drew a walk. The Patriots went on to win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," New York manager Roberto Campos said following the tough loss.
Manhattan Beach, now 32-29, holds third place in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.
