The Texas Longhorns did not need a Herculean effort from starter Mike Holt, not with their offense scoring runs at will. Texas dispatched the Fresno State Bulldogs, 19-4. The Longhorns move to 10-7 with the win, while the Bulldogs drop to 6-10.

Jeff Patterson played a key role in the win for the Longhorns. The third baseman punched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, Patterson went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Susumu Kawashima said.
