Ole Miss beat Tulane at Ballpark of Wrightsville College, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Thomaz Quint, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ole Miss reliever Dan Beck picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Gary Crocker shouldered the loss. Bart Parker found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Tulane hurler Gary Crocker, the 19-year-old third baseman reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. His 11th RBI of the season put the Rebels on top, 5-4.
