|
The Stanford Cardinals were defeated, 8-5, by the Rice Owls. Leading the charge for Rice was left fielder Bob Love. He went 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Justin Taylor earned the save for Rice, his 2nd of the year. Rice is 2-8 and Stanford, with the loss, 5-5.
With no one out in the top of the second, Russell Walker hit a go-ahead 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and with it the Owls took a 2-0 lead.
"Nice to get this one," said Love. "Wins have been hard to come by."
