49'ers Come Up Short at TCU
The TCU Horned Frogs turned back the Long Beach State 49'ers, 5-4, at Dingoes Ballpark. Craig Alston was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Ron Tate picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Jason Love was tagged with the loss. Jim Unknown locked down his 1st save.

Doing his part for TCU was right fielder Cody Nelson, who stroked a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Nelson was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
