Wildcats Get One-Run Win at Long Beach State
|
Despite a great performance by Long Beach State right fielder Leonard Wright, the Arizona Wildcats defeated the 49'ers by the score of 7-6 at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Wright was 3-6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Arizona reliever Adrian Jones got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Edward Jefferson was tagged with the loss. Arizona has a mark of 5-4 after the win.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Long Beach State hurler Rich Davis, Fred Pratt drew a walk. The Wildcats went on to win.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Pratt.
