Texans Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hops
The Dallas Texans topped the San Diego Hops, 4-3, in Roberto Clemente League action at Metroplex Park. The player of the game was Dallas pitcher and Buenavista, Mexico native Pedro López. Dallas reliever Ramiro Ortega picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Son Mai took the loss. The 5th-place Texans raised their record to 28-33.

The Texans beat the Hops in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Sadakuno Matsumoto produced in the bottom of the 15th. Batting against San Diego pitcher Son Mai, Matsumoto gave his team a 4-3 lead when he hit a walk-off run-scoring double.

"We did enough to win," said Matsumoto.
