Sun Devils Come Up Short at Long Beach State
|
The Long Beach State 49'ers did just enough to sneak past the Arizona State Sun Devils, 4-3, at Ballpark of Macclenny College. Long Beach State right fielder Leonard Wright earned player of the game honors. Steven Duncan finished to wrap up his 1st save. The win gives the 49'ers a record of 4-3.
An important at-bat for Long Beach State came with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Wright hit a run-scoring double, which contributed to the 49'ers win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Arizona State manager Cam Morrisey.
