Longhorns Knock Off California at Ballpark of Celebration College

Texas and California got after it at Ballpark of Celebration College.
Getting a good performance from left fielder Pete Bauer, the Texas Longhorns defeated the California Golden Bears, 9-5. Bauer went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Longhorns. Dexter Morris, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held California to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts.
Making an impact for Texas was catcher Charles Honeysett. He drilled a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Honeysett was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I felt good up there," said Bauer. "I saw the ball well."
The Longhorns raised their record to 5-1.
