Third Baseman Patterson hits 2nd home run, Steals Spotlight in Texas Rout
|
The Texas Longhorns clobbered the USC Trojans, 12-2, at Nesquehoning College Fields today. Texas third baseman Jeff Patterson was named player of the game for his productive day. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Getting the save was Damian Jones, his 1st. The win takes Texas to 4-1.
When the Longhorns needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Patterson who delivered. Facing USC pitcher Tim Turner the top of the second with a runner on 1st, Patterson hit his 2nd home run of the year. It made the score 2-0.
"It was full throttle on our side," said Patterson.
