Doyle Sullivan could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Mile High Mustangs lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Quebec Armada at McNichols Stadium. Finley Goddier was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Quebec, at 28-31, occupies 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Sparky Anderson Division.
Quebec grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Elián Aguilar delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Armada.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Mile High manager Dave Harris. "But we decided not to take it."
