49'ers Come Up Short at Oregon State
|
Long Beach State right fielder Leonard Wright had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 4-3, to Oregon State at Palisades Ballpark. Wright went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The loss drops Long Beach State to 1-3.
In the bottom of the 6th, first baseman Michael Ford gave Oregon State the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Beavers had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Long Beach State pitcher Jason Love changed that -- and Oregon State went on to win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Long Beach State manager Richie Robertson said following the tough loss.
