Bulldogs Get One-Run Win at Oregon
Oregon first baseman Cecil Henry was sensational. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Fresno State beat the Ducks, 8-7. Henry was named the player of the game despite the loss. Melvin Netherway, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 1-0. Randall Keys finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Tied up with the Ducks in the top of the fourth, the Bulldogs got a boost from second baseman Justin Deem. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Deem saw a 2-1 fastball from Earnest Pritchard and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Fresno State on top, 1-0.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Deem, "but we got it done."

With the win, Fresno State goes to 3-1.
