Cavaliers Bang Out 9-4 Win Versus Iowa State
|
The Virginia Cavaliers powered past the Iowa State Cyclones, 9-4, at Forney College Grounds. Dave Lange went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Virginia reliever Colton Morgan was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Gordon Quaid. The 17th-place Cavaliers now have a win-loss record of 21-23.
When the Cavaliers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Lange who delivered. Facing Iowa State pitcher Gordon Quaid the top of the fourth with runners on 1st and 2nd, Lange hit his 4th home run of the year. It made the score 5-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Lange said after the game.
