Bulldogs, Marshall Pin Bad Loss on Tigers

The Georgia Bulldogs met little resistance from the Auburn Tigers, beating them 11-2 at Zodiac Ballpark. Ron Marshall led the way. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Georgia. John Henderson got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Jim Unknown recorded his 1st save for Georgia.
Georgia third baseman Palmer Cox made his contribution to the Bulldogs cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning. For the day, Cox was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Auburn manager Victor Rafferty called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
The Bulldogs raised their record to 22-17.
