Hurricanes Lose, 8-3, at Castles Ballpark
|
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stopped the Miami Hurricanes, 8-3, at Castles Ballpark. The Yellow Jackets got a big game from Bill O'Brien, who was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Raśl Garza picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 7. On the season, he is now 2-3. Dave Kirkland was credited with the save for Georgia Tech, his 1st of the season.
O'Brien had a big at-bat with one out in the bottom of the first inning. With his team down, 2-1, the right fielder hit a 3-run home run to put Georgia Tech ahead.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said O'Brien.
The 15th-place Yellow Jackets are now 18-21, the Hurricanes 25-15.
