Michigan starter Brandon Miller had a strong outing against the South Carolina Gamecocks at Siege Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Gary Hunter, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save. At 26-11, the Wolverines have a slim two-game lead in the Ron Fraser Division.

Matt Tate found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing South Carolina hurler Eric Barber, the 19-year-old designated hitter drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 24th walk of the season put the Wolverines on top, 3-2.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," South Carolina manager Orlando Torres said following the tough loss.
