Yellow Jackets Saddle Buckeyes with 6-4 Loss
|
Georgia Tech right fielder Jim Unknown was instrumental in his team's 6-4 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes. Unknown went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech reliever Dave Rainey picked up the win to move to 2-0. António Salazar suffered the loss. Jason Love closed the door for Georgia Tech, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
An important at-bat for Georgia Tech came with two out in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, Unknown hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Yellow Jackets win.
In postgame remarks, Unknown said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
After today's action, Georgia Tech sits at 16-20, while Ohio State falls to 16-21.
