Commodores Hang 6-3 Loss on Tigers
|
Dale Miller left his imprint on the 6-3 Vanderbilt win against the Auburn Tigers. Miller was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. With the win over Auburn, the Commodores improved to 17-20.
Tied up with the Tigers in the bottom of the fourth, the Commodores got a boost from center fielder Kevin Byrd. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Byrd saw a 1-1 forkball from Don Parsons and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Vanderbilt on top, 3-2.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Miller told the Vanderbilt Today. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
