Rivera 3-4 in Demon Deacans Win
|
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans thumped the Indiana State Sycamores, 8-2, at Cypress Quarters College Grounds. Norberto Rivera was a big reason his team got the win. Rivera went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Wake Forest reliever Jeremy Cole picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Wesley White was saddled with the loss. The Demon Deacans raised their record to 20-17.
Rivera contributed when he hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. Coming with two outs and a runner on 1st, the home run proved to be critical to helping Wake Forest get the win.
"Getting the win feels pretty nice," said Rivera. "More importantly, I had a good game."
