Wolverines Spoil Great Performance by Stevens
|
The first-place Michigan Wolverines welcomed Kansas to Siege Ballpark.
The Michigan Wolverines had to overcome a big game from Kansas center fielder Donald Stevens to leave Siege Ballpark with a 11-5 victory. Stevens went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The first-place Wolverines have won 5 in a row.
In the bottom of the 1st, the Wolverines grabbed the lead on a two-out home run by Richard Koellerer. Michigan at the time was trailing 2-0, but Koellerer's 3-run home run off Shawn Ward put his team in front.
Koellerer said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
