Tigers Suffer 6-3 Loss to Buckeyes
|
Ohio State starter Dave Johnston pitched effectively against the Auburn Tigers at Ballpark of Bloomfield College. The right-hander led his team to a 6-3 win. Johnston, now 5-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. At 16-19, the Buckeyes are currently 15th in the Ron Fraser Division.
In the bottom of the fourth, Craig Nelson took a fastball from Tyler Petty and pounded a 3-run home run to left. It put Ohio State on top, 3-0. For the game, Nelson was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Nelson said.
