Yellow Jackets Pick Up 6-5 Win
|
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets overcame a good performance by Virginia second baseman Brandon Benedict to knock off Virginia, 6-5, at Ballpark of Redwood College. Benedict was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 times. Jason Love closed it out for his 1st save. The 19th-place Yellow Jackets improved to 14-19.
John Gregg contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the eighth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he drew a walk. It was one at-bat that propelled Georgia Tech to the win.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Gregg.
