Tigers Roll to 11-3 Win Over Gators
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at Zodiac Ballpark enjoyed themselves.
The Auburn Tigers coasted to a win over the Florida Gators, 11-3. John Lawrence had a good day at the plate for Auburn. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Máximo Méndez got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1.
Craig Robinson contributed to the Auburn win. The 20-year old second baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the first. For the game, Robinson went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Robinson said.
The Tigers go to 20-10, putting them second in the Ron Fraser Division.
