Tigers Hang 8-5 Loss on Gamecocks
|
John Lawrence left his imprint on the 8-5 Auburn win against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Lawrence, who is tied for 10th in the SBL in runs scored with 26, was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Tom O'Mulroy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Pedro Medellín was tagged with the loss. Domingo Pérez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
Gunner White had a productive at-bat for the Tigers with two out in the top of the ninth. With the bases loaded, the first baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The at-bat was important in the Auburn win.
Lawrence said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
The Tigers have an impressive 19-10 record.
