Clemson Wins, Francis slugs 2 home runs
|
The Clemson Tigers topped the Auburn Tigers, 8-5, with left fielder Jasper Francis playing a big role. Francis hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Tigers in the win. The 11th-place Tigers have won 5 straight.
Francis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch slider from Máximo Méndez, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Tigers a 4-1 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Francis.
"I like our mindset right now," said Clemson manager Júlio Santana.
